As Mavericks enters its Alpha, increasing the status of your character in the world will be a core goal for many players. A large portion of this status comes from economic wealth: owning the most exclusive clothing, multiple stocks of the rarest weapons, having large consumable reserves etc. Fine-tuning the game’s economy is crucial to crafting a sustainable game, providing meaningful rewards and balancing item usage and costs.
As some of you have already noticed, the initial setup of item spawn rates and so on have allowed some players to build up significant stockpiles of items and bits – the in-game currency – which isn’t healthy for the game over the longer term and which will distort gameplay for the wider community of players.
Those of you with experience of pre-release MMOs will, therefore, be unsurprised to hear that we will be doing economic resets at various points during the game’s development. After the game reaches its Alpha state (June 2019) we are going to move to a monthly season model (once The Forge reaches its Beta stage, these seasons will be extended to a longer period).

These economic resets will remove all items and currency accumulated by players. Of course, we want to recognise the effort and dedication many of you have made in building up these stockpiles, and show our appreciation of your commitment. Therefore, rather than simply reducing everything to zero, leaving you with nothing to show for your work, we’ll be implementing various benefits and rewards based on how much you have stored when we do these resets.
Your total will then be updated each reset to reflect your progress, unlocking the following rewards at respective milestones:
Capital Sponsored Titles
Wealth accumulated over The Forge (raw value (between buy/sell price) of banked items and Bits) will unlock a set of titles associated with currency donation. Progress towards these titles can be furthered past launch but you’ll get a head-start. Exact bits required for each of the respective titles will be announced in a future forge update.
Players can unlock the following scaling titles, which will be presented under your nametag in The Capital:
Title 1: ‘Capital Aide’
Title 2: ‘Capital Sponsor’
Title 3: ‘Ally of The Capital’
Title 4: ‘Clerk of The Capital’
Title 5: ‘Bookkeeper of The Capital’
The ‘Bits’ accumulated by a player during The Forge will be exchanged and returned to players at launch using a conversion ratio (the exact figure of which to be decided).

After the launch of the Beta in November, we are not planning any further resets and will be making our seasons last considerably longer.
